End client: Baileys Marine Group
Client: Land & Marine
Structural Engineer: MEC
Project Description: The boat hoisting facility is designed to service vessels up to 30 tonnes. The structure supports both a four-legged travelling crane and a super-sized fork lift.
Building structure: MEC designed the permanent structure and the temporary works for this project. A precast concrete solution was suggested but the client had a strong preference for in-situ. Steel piles were driven to rock and the temporary structure erected off these. The heavy reinforced concrete structure was then formed and cast off this with careful control of materials and concrete cover to reinforcement.
