Client: Australian Wharf & Bridge
Structural Engineer: MEC
Architect: Collingridge & Associates
A new, two-storey workshop and administrative office for AWB in Rozelle Bay, Sydney.
MEC were engaged for the structural engineering in April 2015. A preference for not using piles led to the adoption of a reinforced concrete waffle raft slab bearing on the existing pavement for the ground floor. The first floor is conventional reinforced concrete bearing on corefilled concrete blockwork walls. Structural steelwork from the building being replaced was re-used where feasible for its architectural merit and economy.
